Heartwarming Birthday Reactions

Incredible Birthday Reactions…. (and a little shameless self promotion).

February 2014 was a fabulous month for 3 outstanding birthday parties ages ranging from 80 to 16 to 8 ~ all of them sharing the admiration of Johnny Depp.

BIRTHDAY #1:  I was told prior to my arrival, that the birthday girl who was turning 80, all requests and birthday gifts received on her special day were Johnny Depp related. Many of her family members had asked her “what would be the ultimate gift for your 80th Birthday”, her response “Johnny Depp himself”.  Her request had not passed her lips, when I walked in. Putting on my best Depp strut, I walked up the stairs then crossed the living room towards the birthday girl holding a single rose and a bottle of champagne.  Her shock was immediate, followed by tears of joy and laughter.  Several of her family members were equally as thrilled with others busy taking photos and videos of the surprise visit.  Giving her a big birthday hug, I sat down beside her to chat about her favourite topic…. Mr. Depp.  She felt like a celebrity with all cameras on her and her favourite icon sitting beside her…. but what truly impressed me the most was what she said to me during our talk….“I know you are not the real Johnny Depp, but you so look like him and you really made my dream come true… thank you”!  She warmed my heart and was such a good young minded and spirited woman, (she looked and acted like 68 not 80) that it came to my attention that those who can fantasize keep their youth.  She has such a loving family and there was so much love and happiness that filled up her home. It was a joy and an utmost pleasure to be a part of her birthday and birthday gift.

BIRTHDAY #2:  Next was a young man who was turning 8.  He had no idea that Captain Jack was going to make a surprise appearance to his house. When he opened the door, uncertainty and shock was the initial reaction… followed by yelling upstairs, “Captain Jack is here, Captain Jack is here”….. then ran back down the stairs, jumping up and down for joy followed by a great big hug with a “Thank you so much for coming”.  How can you  not feel warm “fuzzies” when you see a young child this happy?

BIRTHDAY #3:  Third birthday surprise appearance was for a sweet 16 who is just IN LOVE with Johnny Depp…. truly in LOVE.  A week prior, her dad had dropped off their gift for their daughter for me to give to her upon my arrival. Seeing me as ‘me’, the expression on the dad’s told me he was a bit leery and apprehensive about me making myself “look” like Mr. Depp.  I tried to rest assure him that his daughter will be surprised.  We shook hands and went about our day.  5 days later I got ready for the big surprise.  Upon my arrival at the restaurant, the birthday girl was sitting with her back towards the entrance way.  I made my way over to her mom, and standing behind her so that her daughter had a clear view of me, I asked “I hear there is a young woman turning sweet 16 today”.  Once again, shock was eminent ….. which was followed by screams of “Oh my god, Oh my god!”  She jumped out of her chair, shaking her hands up and down (in the motion of ‘I can’t believe this is happening’) and as she was vibrating I gave her a big birthday hug, followed by giving her a single rose and the gift from her parents.  She was literally shaking, (wonder what she would have done if the REAL Johnny Depp had arrived)….laughing and almost in tears.  We hugged several times and again my heart was warmed by her reaction.  Her dad was equally as shocked….. “I cannot believe how much you look like him… wow… you really do look like him…. I’m blown away!”  Again I was so incredibly thrilled to have been a part of this special family and very sweet 16 year old who enjoyed the fantasy that was given to her immensely.
